Wu Yi, China's "Iron Lady" and vice-premier, was not included on the Communist Party's new list of Central Committee members. She was the only woman on the 24 member Politburo. St. John Fisher College scholar Zhiye Bo thinks that the only woman likely to be elevated to the Politburo is Liu Yandong. Liu is in her 60s, is the daughter of a former agriculture vice-minister, and is tied to CCP General Secretary Hu Jintao through work in the Communist Youth League. -- posted by Clayton Dube
