China Car Sales Decline As Economy Cools

In the first quarter, total vehicle sales in China fell 3.4% from a year earlier to 4.79 million vehicles, and that of passenger cars fell 1.3% to 3.77 million vehicles, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said Wednesday. The sales were said to shrink as slowing economic growth chipped away at demand, adding to concerns about the full-year sales outlook in the world’s largest auto market.
